Appointment Policy
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on leashes and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms. All cats must be presented in appropriate cat carriers. While some cats may be familiar with leashes, this method of restraint does not protect from dogs . Also, owners may be injured due to hostility or fright. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Please ask the front desk if you need to purchase a carrier prior to bringing your cat in for its appointment.
For your convenience, "drop-off" appointments are sometimes available by prearrangement. A "drop off" means you could bring your pet at a mutually agreeable time and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours. Usually we will ask you to drop off sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine the patient between appointments or at a time purposely reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor is done, s/he will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and to give you discharge instructions.
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. We recommend that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.
We at JMAH strive to ensure that our clients have access to the best service, the latest medical advances, and prescriptions in which we have confidence. Please allow us to explain why we would like to handle your medications, including flea/tick products and heartworm preventative. Most of our pricing is competitive with that of catalog/on-line companies and we stand behind our products. We gladly furnish information that may be helpful when deciding what to purchase, especially with respect to flea/tick products. We know your pets and our area and are able to make individual, appropriate recommendations.
We feel, therefore, it is in your pet's best interest to purchase medications and products from us. We are able to monitor and record efficacies and reactions, as well as keep current on your pet's weight and condition. We realize, however, there will be times our clients wish to purchase from other sources. We will comply with your request for a written prescription. We ask that you contact us far enough in advance to allow a prescription to be authorized and prepared for pick up or mailing. Payment Policy
We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash and personal checks.
